If there’s one thing we’re all looking to do this year, it’s save a few pennies on those indulgent daily expenditures (Pret lunches, we’re looking at you). So spare a thought for your wallet this week and swap that shop-bought shot for your own home-made concoction using our tasty apple and ginger recipe.

Here’s the nutritional lowdown. Not only is ginger full of antioxidants and clinically proven to help aid digestion, but recent research suggests it can also help lower the risk of chronic diseases, such as heart disease and high blood pressure. Meanwhile, vitamin-rich spirulina not only can help reduce inflammation, but it also could help reduce symptoms of hayfever – pretty key now that summer is on the horizon.

Simply throw all the ingredients together, juice up, and you’ve got a brilliant wellness-boosting snack.
