• Things are about to get a lot more exciting at McDonald's.
  • For many years, devotees of the fast food chain have been asking for a side of Big Mac sauce for all their dipping needs.
  • And starting April 27, Big Mac sauce dipping cups will be made available (through the app) for a limited time—and at participating locations.

Dipping nuggets and fries just got a lot more exciting with this announcement from McDonald's. After years of customers requesting a side of Big Mac sauce for their fries, McNuggets, and even breakfast sandwiches, the fast food chain has unveiled its Big Mac sauce dipping cups.

Starting April 27, for a limited time, the dipping cups will only be available through the McDonald’s app at participating restaurants across the U.S. (while supplies last).

For the Chicken McNuggets lovers out there, there's even more exciting news headed your way. You can get a side of the sauce for no extra charge with any nuggets purchase.

And if you're wondering why the dip cup's branding doesn't match the aesthetic of McDonald's other sauces, there's a reason for that. The Big Mac sauce dip cup is inspired by the original Big Mac sandwich wrapping that dates back to 1968.

"The Big Mac has been an icon on the McDonald’s menu since it first debuted nationally in 1968, after an Owner/Operator in Pittsburg, PA came up with the idea for a double burger sandwich. And the fandom for the Big Mac has only grown with time," read a release from the company.

News of the Big Mac sauce dip cups comes shortly after McDonald's announced big changes to several of its burgers, including the Cheeseburger and McDouble. Coincidentally, one of those changes includes more sauce on the Big Mac.

I have to say that I'm really enjoying McDonald's saucy new take on things.
