Uh, have you seen Jennifer Garner's arms lately? They look INCREDIBLE. (Seriously, it looks like they could bench press all three of her super-cute kids at once.)

In fact, Jennifer just showed off her ripped arms (and abs, tbh) in an funny Instagram video to promo her new action film, Peppermint.

In the video, Jennifer flexes her (super toned) biceps while wearing boxing gear, set to the tune of the Rocky theme song. She then grins at the camera and saunters away.

Jennifer is extra-jacked thanks to her role Peppermint, which tells the story of Riley North, a woman who survived a brutal attack that killed her husband and daughter. She then gets super fit and decides to take justice into her own hands.

Apparently, Jennifer has Simone De La Rue, trainer and founder of Body by Simone, to thank for her brand-new biceps. De La Rue has worked with Jennifer for years, but she took her training to a whole new level while preparing her for the role.

"We knew that we needed to look like an action figure," she tells WomensHealthMag.com, "So obviously we needed to target the arms."

According to De La Rue, Jennifer worked out six days a week (for one to two hours a day) to prep for the role. And they had three months of intense prep. "We worked on lifting heavier weights, usually around 15 pounds," she says. "We also did a lot of bodyweight work, and supplemented with my custom resistance bands."

De La Rue adds that the bands are particularly great for travel, because you can just throw them in your bag—which was really helpful when Jennifer was on the road. In fact, one of De La Rue's favorite moves for Jennifer is an overhead press using the bands:

They also didn't skimp on the triceps workouts (and that certainly shows!). De La Rue says they did plenty of triceps extensions with weights and the resistance band, along with triceps dips.

Jennifer recently revealed exactly what her workout with De La Rue looks like in a fun Instagram video, which includes a bunch of ab exercises, planks, good old fashioned pushups, lifting, and a lot of that band work. (Are you tired just watching this? Because I definitely am!)

Jennifer also shared a video of practicing fights for Peppermint, which looks like a pretty solid workout, too:

As if this training wasn't intense enough, Jennifer also told Entertainment Weekly that she took daily dance cardio classes and weight training, did boxing workouts, artillery sessions with Navy SEALs, and stunt work with her stunt double to prepare for Peppermint. “It was full-on,” she says. “It was the greatest fun. Plus, no working mom is ever going to say to her kids, ‘Pardon me while I do my second workout,’ so the fact that it was my job allowed me to really indulge in that experience.”

And Simone adds that the actress took advantage of De La Rue's Body By Simone App, which allowed her to access custom workouts, personal training, and live streaming when the pair couldn't meet for training, says De La Rue.

BRB, heading to the gym to try and become an iconic action hero.
